By downloading, accessing, or using A Word a Day (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”), operated by A Word a Day.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
A Word a Day provides vocabulary learning, word discovery, personalization, home-screen widgets, and related premium features.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

An account is optional. Many features work in guest mode with favorites, history, streak, and preferences stored on your device until you sign in, sync, or clear local data.
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current account information.
The App may offer paid subscriptions or one-time premium purchases.
Premium features may include:
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
Pricing, subscription terms, and available features may change over time.
All payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
We do not directly collect or store payment card information.
Subscription management, billing disputes, refunds, and cancellations are handled according to Apple or Google’s respective policies.
We may offer free trials, discounts, or promotional pricing from time to time.
Eligibility and availability may vary and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
The App, including its design, branding, text, graphics, content, software, widgets, and functionality, is owned by A Word a Day or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any part of the App without prior written permission.
The App stores preferences and learning data you generate (such as favorites and history). You retain ownership of your content.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display such content solely for operating and improving the App.
You are responsible for any content you submit or sync.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time without notice.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.
Features, premium offerings, and pricing may change over time.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
We do not guarantee that:
Your use of the App is at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, A Word a Day shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or related subscriptions within the prior twelve months.
You may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.
Signed-in users may permanently delete their account from Settings → Account or Settings → Data & privacy. See our Privacy Policy for what is deleted, what may remain on your device, and how store subscriptions are handled separately from account deletion.
Upon account deletion or termination, access to premium features and stored cloud data may be removed.
The App may offer one-time “Lifetime” purchases that provide access to certain premium features for the operational lifetime of the App and related services.
“Lifetime” refers to the period during which the App and associated services continue to be commercially offered and supported by A Word a Day. It does not guarantee perpetual access independent of the continued operation, maintenance, or availability of the App.
If the App, related services, or supporting infrastructure are discontinued, materially changed, or permanently shut down, access to lifetime features may also end.
We reserve the right to modify, replace, discontinue, or sunset features, services, or the App itself at any time.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date above.
Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
